We've listened to the left bash the Bush administration for eight years, but the Dems, in a few short weeks, have managed to cast more shame on our country than anyone could possibly imagine. Between the Blogo fiasco, the string of failed Obama appointments, Obama's ties to domestic terrorists, all the election fraud, and the Senate's flip-flop on the Burris appointment, the rest of the world must be looking at us and wondering what the hell is going on. One thing's for sure ... everyone around the world certainly knows how weak we are right now. In light of all these things, it's pretty hard to have a GOOD attitude, so I share your pessimism. But, then, from my previous comments, you probably already know that!!Guyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10903448394061019454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-196554259323465442.post-49908297464911934402009-01-13T21:25:00.000-08:002009-01-13T21:25:00.000-08:00Funny you should mention pesticedes. True to its course to place us all (those that live there)into penury and hunger, the EU is following on with its policy of 'sustainable' use of pesticides. After a number of revisions to its mandated Directive (read Diktat as in 'no choice in the matter') we have some 250 types of pesticides available within the EU. When the Directive is fully operational the EU will be losing up to 80percent of its pesticide arsenal.
It seems that no thought is being given to the matter of what will be left after the ravages of nature have taken their toll.
Crop loss in the field to weed, insects and disease is put at about 40 percent. Post harvest losses due to rodents bring this up to some 50 percent. Half of everything grown is lost before any pestiide reduction! Not only will produce levels drop but some variants of vegies, brassicas and cereals may well vanish and certainly what is left will see hefty price rises. Such are the idiots that rule us.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-196554259323465442.post-82190765804350664372009-01-13T16:55:00.000-08:002009-01-13T16:55:00.000-08:00You took the words right out of my mouth, Alan.
