This, from a retired teacher. Where does one check the facts? I emailed Mr Leonard to tell him he should try moving on from blaming the GOP, Bush and Reagan for everything going wrong in CA. I love the way liberals always slip in their every article that their policies are great, it's a pity the GOP won't let them work! It's almost as if they're looking for a backdoor to explain the upcoming failings of what they think is utopia, but never is!

Have a read at Mr Leonard's attempt at gloating and smearing: http://www.salon.com/2012/11/07/the_gops_horrible_california_nightmare/Lime Litehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15062140213877618320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-196554259323465442.post-80069265078428065632012-11-17T16:43:29.062-08:002012-11-17T16:43:29.062-08:00Steve's other half here. We voted NO despite the fact that Steve is a teacher and was personally threatened with all manner of dire consequences if said proposition failed. Our move out of state would include a change in profession as well as political climate...working the cement aisle at Home Depot would be an improvement.

Between a state government whose tentacles reach into every classroom and an administration more interested in test scores than actual education, teaching in California has become absolute torture, especially for those teachers who refuse to tow the line. Test scores are just the tip of the iceberg.Maureenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13716619994168402985noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-196554259323465442.post-9414492136790216482012-11-17T15:43:00.937-08:002012-11-17T15:43:00.937-08:00Alan, thanks for the great review! I was a bit more optimistic after the 2012 primaries, when voters in San Diego and San Jose voted to begin getting control of public employee pensions. But negativity returned in November, when Californians voted to self-destruct.

Readers interested in Crazifornia can log onto Amazon and type it into the search bar, or just go to www.crazifornia.com, where I'm offering signed copies for $1 over Amazon's price.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08129671352367064983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-196554259323465442.post-83207081970783711292012-11-17T15:12:49.431-08:002012-11-17T15:12:49.431-08:00@Steve. By itself the Central Valley produces food and dairy that would be the 5th largest amount in the world if it stood by itself. We also are a conservative region that is overshadowed and unrepresented by its more liberal state-mates on the coast.

Two of our children find it difficult to get into school, even though they are in the top 11 of their graduating classes.
