The reduction is in the number of people employed. That's a sign of efficiency in that sector.

The obvious problems are that we have not been able to expand production, and/or re-train people into equal-income jobs.Desertrathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09860257698839313423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-196554259323465442.post-9463821486877490492011-03-03T02:53:39.032-08:002011-03-03T02:53:39.032-08:00@Alan:

I must admit that this one was a real punch in the gut. Deep down I know that everything you say is true and not much of it is anything I don’t already realize. To keep my sanity, I just try to not think about it too often for fear of slipping into deep depression. I have kids and grandkids and to me their future looks very bleak. It seems the country is on a 757 diving nose first to the ground with no way to pull out in time. The country is on the precipice of economic collapse, many of its people are morally and intellectually bankrupt, many others want to ‘rob from the rich’ and keep for themselves, still others think government is the be all and end all that should take care of us all because we can’t take care of ourselves (union mentality), and a majority have become dumbed-down, blue jean, sneaker, and ball cap wearing slobs who show no courtesy, or respect for anybody (“Hey Dude”) and are too ignorant to even take their ball caps off in a restaurant while they sit and eat. How can people have pride in their country when they don’t even have pride in themselves anymore? All this is courtesy of progressivism as I see it. I always wonder what the progressives think will happen once they’ve finally killed the goose laying the golden eggs? Yours was not a pretty message to hear today, but alas, it’s one that needs to be screamed from the mountaintops. I hope more Americans will wake up and elect more officials with the guts to carve the cancer out of our society before it is too late. Keep the great commentary coming Alan, you provide a wake-up call everyday. Will Harmonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08517056183463981595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-196554259323465442.post-67370993546481881942011-03-02T11:50:37.607-08:002011-03-02T11:50:37.607-08:00Yuh think?Yuh think?Alan Carubahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10901162110385985193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-196554259323465442.post-44633700658267557182011-03-02T11:25:04.553-08:002011-03-02T11:25:04.553-08:00We are SO screwed...We are SO screwed...TexasFredhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06412925337032937983noreply@blogger.com
