The Greens have been saying for decades the Earth cannot sustain six billion, but it does. In time, that time will recede because wealthier nations produce fewer children and we are seeing China and India join in the prosperity the West has enjoyed.

I am not sure, but if you go to www.anxietycenter.com, you will likely find some of my writings on these topics in its archive sections.Alan Carubahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10901162110385985193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-196554259323465442.post-56896715569071718612010-02-13T16:07:49.471-08:002010-02-13T16:07:49.471-08:00Innovation is the typical way of overcoming the co...Innovation is the typical way of overcoming the cost of doing business. The number of innovations that can be adopted are limited.

One recent book noted that at one time the ancient Chinese were technologically 500 years ahead of the rest of the world. The Chinese Empowers were afraid that all of that innovation could create something that would be used to over throw them and instituted a massive bureaucracy to impose a system of taxation and regulations to stifle innovation. Whatever the reason for an excess of both of these is immaterial. The end result is the same.

Eventually taxes and regulations will overwhelm innovation. Taxes and regulations have no limit until there is nothing left to tax and regulate.Rich Kozlovichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13745960671409518147noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-196554259323465442.post-10315394872789844312010-02-13T15:24:34.123-08:002010-02-13T15:24:34.123-08:00The MSM as a political instrument ?

Ala...The MSM as a political instrument ?

You bet.

Alan, this is off topic, so please delete if you wish. The AGW'ers are I think having to shifting tack, now that "the science" of universal socialism/global warming has been shot full of holes.

They seem to be moving to the "sustainability" line, peak oil etc. I have made reference today to Julian Simon and his book The Ultimate Resource which I'm sure you're familiar with.

Have you posted on this ? If so, I'd be delighted to read, ditto, if not.Ayrdalehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12277759681727009183noreply@blogger.com
