The only solution to low-quality output, in their minds, is "more money". (And more administrators.) This leads to Einstein's comment about repeating experiments.

When you're going the wrong way down a road, pushing on the gas pedal doesn't help.Desertrathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09860257698839313423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-196554259323465442.post-67496684897975690352011-05-18T04:14:19.624-07:002011-05-18T04:14:19.624-07:00Richard Cohen is a flagrant moron. On one occasion the question was, “Should The Federal Government Provide Aid to Education?” My partner and I argued the “opposed” side. This was the only formal debate my partner and I ever lost! This loss hounded me for years. When federal aid to education came into effect I came to realized the whole country lost on this question. Our country is a big looser here. It appears we are closer to a cure for all cancer than a cure for our educational system.J Johnstonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11127981724616565870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-196554259323465442.post-12134311057861595532011-05-17T16:38:45.097-07:002011-05-17T16:38:45.097-07:00@Rich: He must be a liberal. Cohen went on and on how there needs to be many fundamental changes in America including standardized central planning for educational curriculum.

Then after saying how fundamentally wrong everything is in America he went on to say how much he loved it and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

I think that sounds a bit like cognitive dissonance. Perhaps I am reading too much into this, but isn't it insane to love a place that is so "fundamentally" flawed, and want to live nowhere else? He is a professional writer. Doesn't he know what words mean? It really is true. Ideology makes smart people stupid.Rich Kozlovichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13745960671409518147noreply@blogger.com
