Nobody in a position of authority wants to admit this openly, but science has no excuse for being so far led astray. It is proper to lay blame particularly on James Hansen, who you have named here. My simple but definitive comparison of the temperatures in the atmospheres of Venus and Earth (see my blog) made it obvious to any competent scientist that there is no greenhouse effect as promulgated by Hansen and the IPCC, and Hansen should have known this since late 1991, when the Venus data was taken by the Magellan spacecraft. That data has been effectively suppressed by the greenhouse effect "experts" for all this time (and my simple analysis is right now being ignored and actively suppressed, for example by "Physics Today", to whom I submitted a letter on it), and all of our scientific authorities have been suborned, insisting to the world that the "science is settled". Everyone who has promulgated the greenhouse effect is responsible for the perversion and debasement of science, which will reverberate far beyond climate science, for the incompetence therein is but the tip of the iceberg in modern science.Harry Dale Huffmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03210275295826050501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-196554259323465442.post-92197103389028753502011-05-01T21:18:14.512-07:002011-05-01T21:18:14.512-07:00Osama Bin Laden to the rescue of Global Warming. At least Charles Manson is still an inspiration to doomsday criers:

http://oi55.tinypic.com/2jb7fk7.jpg

The earth began to warm in 1850, eh? Actual thermometer records exist that carry back to 1650, and there is utterly no trend change in all that time, ever, and certainly not in 1850:

http://oi49.tinypic.com/rc93fa.jpg

Good article though. I hope to run into more like this that will help rein in more of a lay audience than highly technical blogs about statistics related to climate graphs.

P.S. Central England has now plummeted back below the trendline in 2010.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-196554259323465442.post-13764297217433776192011-05-01T19:57:00.370-07:002011-05-01T19:57:00.370-07:00One of the tidbits that I teach is that during the...One of the tidbits that I teach is that during the 1200s, the last episode of "global warming", Lake Tahoe was 40 feet lower than it is today. People are so concerned now because it's dropped about 6 inches. It had dropped 40 feet. I'm sure that too was because of the high population, the industrialization, and the cars! What if it's today? - A survivalist's bloghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06291866801645327324noreply@blogger.com
