Then add in constant rocketing from Hamas in Gaza and wars and threats of wars from Hezbollah in Lebanon...and you have the nerve to suggest Israel is the aggressor? That is idiocy.Alan Carubahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10901162110385985193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-196554259323465442.post-11567541551355517952008-05-15T20:31:00.000-07:002008-05-15T20:31:00.000-07:00All true, but that does not justify discrimination...All true, but that does not justify discrimination on religious or racial grounds.

I am acutely aware that you found my reference to Apartheid offensive. It is my view that Israel is an apartheid state - that is it practices discrimination against the Arabs.

I had read somewhere that PM Olmert had admitted as much himself, but could find the reference. Now I have found it. This is what he said in November 2007:

USA today, JERUSALEM — Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert warned in a published interview Thursday that "the state of Israel is finished" if a Palestinian state is not created. He said the alternative is a South African-style apartheid struggle.

The explosive reference to apartheid came as Olmert returned from a high-profile peace conference in the USA, hoping to prepare a skeptical nation for difficult negotiations with the Palestinians.

Furher down the article he elaborated: "The day will come when the two-state solution collapses, and we face a South African-style struggle for equal voting rights," Olmert told Haaretz. "As soon as that happens, the state of Israel is finished."

The URL for the full article is: http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/
2007-11-29-olmert-mideast_N.htmSaildoghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14642015470932289170noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-196554259323465442.post-51989508579538944532008-05-13T15:21:00.000-07:002008-05-13T15:21:00.000-07:00Excellent piece, Alan. It is not strange that we spend our energy there in this fruitless battle. Our Saudi masters tell us, "Hamstring the Jews with a "piece" process! You will get oil (if China doesn't want it)." Our powers that be say: "Keep their eyes off of the Constitution, we're almost there!" The marionettes in Washington DC are pleased to participate in any dance that will get them anointed. Meanwhile, the sleepy giant asks for another six-pack and a universal remote.Dave's Daily Day Dreamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17491764990082380190noreply@blogger.com
