Because of our military strength and huge courage (We killed over a million Chinese troops there) that conflict just fizzled away . . . technically, we are still at war with N Korea.

After WWII, the US occupied Japan and Germany, for a good many years. MacArthur wrote a constitution for Japan, and occupied Japan until Japan "got the hang of it"

Our armed forces occupied Germany on the same way, and Gen. More than one histo...O SHADES OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE!

More than one historian has pointed out the fact that the United States modeled its government on the ancient Roman Republic - and seems to be following its decline into an evil empire.

For instance, the Roman Legions were originally made up of patriotic yeomen led by the sons of the wealthy.

However, in the late republic the Legions became staffed by professional soldiers under the control of leaders like Julius Caesar, and owed more loyalty to their commanders than to the republic.

Thus on paper Rome was a constitutional republic until the end came in 476, but the reality was that Rome had become an empire ruled by one man based on his control of the military, who had complete control of Roman foreign policy and could plunge the nation into foreign wars at his whim.

The Latin word "emperor" means "commander" in English - as in "Commander-In-Chief."Ronbohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02767498198886077632noreply@blogger.com
