Obama Shows His Muslim Hand

By Alan Caruba

When candidate Obama was courting the “Jewish vote” he donned a yarmulke, went to the Wailing Wall in Israel, and said all the right things. He needn’t have bothered because the American Jewish community, estimated to be approximately 5.5 million, was largely in his pocket. They have voted overwhelmingly Democrat since the days of FDR.

This is, if you think about it, fairly astonishing because his middle name is Hussein, his birth father was a Muslim, and so was his Indonesian step-father who reportedly would take him on occasion to the mosque. It is even more astonishing because he was a member for twenty years in a church whose pastor was close friends with the notorious anti-Semite, the leader of the Nation of Islam, Louis Farrakhan.

Any American Jew paying any attention should surely have harbored some doubts and, six months into his presidency, a lot of American Jews are asking themselves what they were thinking when they voted for Obama.

In an article in The Jerusalem Post, Anne Bayefsky wrote, “President Barack Obama last Monday met for the first time with leaders of selected Jewish organizations and leaks from the meeting now make one thing very clear. The only free country in the Middle East no longer has a friend in the leader of the free world. Obama is the most hostile sitting American President in the history of the state of Israel.”

Surprise, surprise. Among the leaders of major Jewish organizations not invited to the July 13 meeting was one from the Zionist Organization of America. As Bayefsky noted, “The oldest pro-Israel group in the United States, with a Washington office second in size only to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, was not a voice Obama wanted to hear. This leaves the President willing to engage Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, but not ZOA President Mort Klein.”

In a July 21 editorial, The Washington Times criticized the U.S. State Department noting that, in the previous week, it had “delivered a demarche (a protest) to Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren, to hold construction on twenty residential units on the site of the Shepherd Hotel, which stands on the edge of an Arab neighborhood in East Jerusalem.”

Does it strike anyone as odd that the State Department whose policies are set by the Oval Office is upset over a bit of housing in Jerusalem? It was, of course, the kind of Kabuki theatre in which diplomats engage to make a larger point. If the point was that the U.S. has the right to tell the sovereign nation of Israel where it can and cannot build housing it is an entirely absurd notion.

There is some further irony in that Ambassador Oren is the author of a remarkable book, “Power, Faith, and Fantasy: America in the Middle East 1776 to the Present.” Had anyone in the State Department read it, they would have learned that “A full fifteen years after declaring its independence, the United States still faced a devastating threat from the Barbary pirates”, Arabs who preyed on our merchant sea trade and who ultimately were responsible for the creation of the U.S. Navy and Marines to defeat them.

In the early years of America, there was an active movement to send missionaries to the Middle East to convert them to Christianity. Now we just send troops to rid the region of psychopathic depots like Saddam Hussein and fanatical Islamo-fascists like Osama bin Laden.
.
So complaining about twenty new apartment units in East Jerusalem is just another way Obama is showing his Muslim bona fides.

He has been on a “get tough” agenda since taking office in late January. The message has not been lost on the so-called Palestinians. The PLO chief, Mahmoud Abbas, has gone back to demanding idiotic concessions from Israel despite the fact that he and his ragged little bunch of Arafat wannabes are literally propped up by Israel as an alternative to Hamas.

Middle East expert, Daniel Pipes, recently noted that Zionists had founded the Shimon Hatzadick neighborhood in 1891 by purchasing land from Arabs. It changed hands as the Arab/Jewish conflicts occurred over the years. The pro-Nazi Amin al Husseini, Jerusalem’s mufti, put up a building in the 1930s that later served as the Shepherd Hotel. In 1985 an American businessman, Irving Moskowitz, bought the land and rented the building to the Israeli border police until 2002.

What does any of this have to do with the United States? Nothing. It is sheer hubris to say that Israel hasn’t the right to build housing for its growing population in Jerusalem or anywhere else. As for the West Bank, it was captured in 1967 after Arab nations, including Jordan, again attacked Israel.

When we give back Texas, California, and much of the U.S. Southwest to Mexico, the State Department can issue such idiotic demands.

This isn’t just about U.S.-Israeli relations. It’s about the very Muslim Barack Hussein Obama.

Brilliantly put. We are dealing with a very Muslim and angry FAUXTUS.

Here in California, there are many markets which display their goods with the Spanish language label to the front. The Mexican flag is seen flying from many a staff in towns to the south of where I live and the hubris of the Hispanic male is changing the way a family walks home from a night at the pizza parlor.
When I moved here in the seventies, there were few public displays of Hispanic machismo. Now "La Raza", Aztlan and MECha are pandered to by politically correct politicos as being benign extensions of a racially discriminated against segment of our society.
I guess my point is, "You ain't seen nothin' yet!" Muslims make up less than one percent of our population now, but their birthrate is multiples of the so-called WASPs (hispanics included). It is said that Islam will be the religion of FIFTY PERCENT of the world's population by the end of this century. Look at northern European countries and their troubles caused by Muslims representing only six percent (or so) of the population. Unless we get off our PC butts, and face reality, this country, like so many in Europe will be well on the way to Sharia Law in eighty years.

Hi Mr. Caruba. I'm one of those who believes fully in the Word where God says He will bless those who bless Israel, but will curse those who curse Israel. There's plenty in the history books showing this is true. Obami has no clue, because he doesn't believe in clinging to things like the Bible- so everything he is doing is going to bring God's curse on America, in fact there has been enough happening lately which shows obami is playing the wrong game.
God Bless you Mr. Caruba- and may He keep Israel in His protection always!

No, Carolyn, I do not think that Obama can singlehandedly bring God's curse on America. He has, afterall, tricked many Americans into believing he is someone he is not.

His punishment will be his alone.

Americans have set things right many times in the past. They fought a Civil War in part to end slavery and they waited a hundred years to correct the wrongs that followed.

Sometimes we must endure an evil man's bad intentions to learn again how to know the difference between good and evil. Every generation must learn this for themselves.

What we are witnessing is a vast shift in public opinion about Obama. Members of his own party are resisting his agenda.

Is he a Muslim? I think so. Is he a Marxist? I think so. Does he hate America? I think so.

But the Constitution puts checks and balances on his power, so we will watch it work its way.

What God has in mind for him only He knows.

If the people cannot trust their government to do the job for which it exists - to protect them and to promote their common welfare - all else is lost.

America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles of justice and progress,
tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.
HUH?-NOT WHAT I READ
I consider it part of my responsibility as President of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.

My parents shared not only an improbable love, they shared an abiding faith in the possibilities of this nation. They would give me an African name, Barack, or blessed, believing that in a tolerant America your name is no barrier to success.

The United States has been enriched by Muslim Americans.
Many other Americans have Muslims in their families or have lived in a Muslim-majority country - I know, because I am one of them.
(which is he referring to?-A muslim living in America or an American living in Muslim Country?)
This Last Quote I Find Scary
We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve
the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.

Certainly it is true that the march of Islam upon the citadels of the 'Unbelievers' is in full swing. It seems that Obama is but one other element in that insidious, creeping column of destructors and head takers.
Sharia courts are already operating in the UK. We have Muslims in the government.
One such, a Labour (= US Democrat) MP, Shahid Malik has predicted the total Islamification of Britain within 30 years. He said this at the 'Global peace and Unity Conference' in London in Oct 2008. His devastating remarks were censored out and witheld for 8 months in an attempt to limit damage to the principle Labour and Conservative (= US Republicans) paries whos anti democratic policies are surely propelling the UK into such a situation.
Like a creeping disease they are infiltrating, by the legitimate means they would never allow us, the very soul, thinking and structure of our country.
It was in 1997 that the first Muslim MP was elected;by 2005 it was four; for 2009/10 they are predicting eight to ten MP's and by 2014 16 MP's. Such is the benefit of handing our electoral powers to the Monolithic EU.
America, it is becoming evident, has leap-frogged that 'creeping' process and elected Mr Big, himself, after a confidence trick of truly gargantuan proportioins.
Europe is now leaning to the extreme right by way of attempted correction.
How is America going to 'correct' Obama?

If this country remains asleep, we're going to get what we deserve. Some of us have been screaming the warnings for months now, but nobody seems to be listening. What is it going to take to get people to remove their heads from their collective behinds and slam the brakes on this runaway train? Any idiot can see what is happening, if they just open their eyes and ears for a moment. Are we THAT self-absorbed in this country? I guess we must be. There's really no other explanation for it. We've been accused of arrogance and self-centeredness by others around the world for years, and I've always thought it was just a bad stereotype ....

Guy, Americans are waking up. The polls all show they do not like what they see in the President or his legislative initiatives.

Even those in Congress are taking notice of this.

Let's hope you're right Alan. Boy, it sure is a slow, sluggish process though isn't it? The polls do seem to indicate that maybe there are enogh calls and e-mails trickling in to get some attention, but it seems people really have to get hit upside the head before they get off their lazy butts and pick up the phone. The procees does seem to work though. We saw it with Immigration reform last term. We just have to do everything in our power to resist this "fast-tracking" trend we're seeing in government. Normally, I'd be the last one to say that our government moves too fast, but in light of recent developments, I'm changing my tune. We have to make sure that each and every piece of garbage this administration throws at us has plenty of time to be examined, debated, discussed, and subjected to the "talk radio test" before it's rammed down our throat. Another good reason to keep a watchful eye out for any legislation that infringes on talk radio ...
