More on Obama's Healthcare "Army"
"Page 496, section 5210 (Healthcare Act) calls for the establishment of a "Ready Reserve Corps", Commissioned officers to be appointed by the President, and this army can be called out by the Surgeon General. Does Congress not understand that the Surgeon General is not a real general, and should not be commanding an army?"
-- Sean Linnane, Stormbringer
Writing under a nom-de-guerre, Sean provides some very interesting information and opinions on military matters on his blog. You can link to it from this one.
The obvious queston is why does the president, the Commander in Chief, need a separate "army" linked to healthcare, crisis events, et cetera? The answer is, he doesn't!
So now Obama wants to form his own version of the Gestapo. It was bad enough he was talking about forming a mandatory youth organization (ala Hitler Youth), but this just keeps getting more troubling...
ReplyDeleteFor the same reason Hitler needed the Storm Troopers and Lenin needed the Red Guards.
ReplyDeleteTO CRACK OPEN THE HEADS OF THE OPPOSITION AND TO TERRORIZE THE GENERAL POPULATION TO ACCEPTANCE OF A TOTALITARIAN REGIME!
A reading of the new law shows this is an expansion of the Public Health Service to cope with national emergencies.

As you know, the PHS has long been a "uniformed service". There is already a reserve force.
This no "health care army" in a sinister sense.
The increased ready reserve strength would be modest, I believe, since the funding amounts to $5m/yr for recruitment and training, and $12.5m/yr for sustaining the force.
There are many things we should be concerned about in this new law, but this appears not to be one of them.

Thank you for the clarification you have brought to this topic.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard not to think that Obama is up to no good, no matter what he does.
Overall, Obamacare appears to be unconstitutional and a fiscal monstrosity.
Alan:
ReplyDeleteI agree wholeheartedly! We have to fight this enemy contimually. Keep up the good work you are doing with your blog
Best Regards.

ReplyDeleteBoy, isn't THAT the truth.
Distrust is still probably a pretty good rule of thumb, as there are so few exceptions.
In my view, ANY expansion of a national program is a bad idea.
By the way, Alan, your spellchecker (or is it mine?) still doesn't recognize the word Obama. I love it!
