Welcome to Montebello High School...in California!

Is it too much to ask why these students raised the flag of Mexico over the U.S. flag at their school?

  5. Another nice touch is the upside down American flag. But they don't teach proper flag usage at school anyway.

  6. It seems obvious - the US flag is clearly being flown upside-down, a time-honored sign of people in distress.

Send in a SWAT team, that should take care of it (wink, wink).

  7. Please note that the U.S. flag is upside down.

Never fly the flag upside down except to signal an emergency. Maybe they got it right.

  9. I love your blog and writings, Alan. But, I found this on Snopes. See link: http://www.snopes.com/photos/politics/mexicoflag.asp

The representation here does not depict what was really going on with this event.

  12. I note that the American flag is upside down, an obvious sign of distress, and the Mex flag above it must meen their signaling Mexico for help.

We are Rome and the barbarians, who by the way were more civilised than we have been led to think, are in the gate. Rome fell because she could not control her borders America beware.

  14. Is it too much to ask why they are flying the American Flag upside down? Is this really the students or is it the school's administration?

  15. It also looks to me as if they're flying the Stars and Stripes upside down.

Time to shut the school down and deport them all south of the border, where they obviously want to be.

  16. Old news... 2006. The kids seen are from two neighboring schools. They, not the kids from Montebello did this. It's called a protest people. Effective too it appears. Nice to see kids exercising their freedom to assemble and speak their opinions.

The reaction from the ignorant right wingers is typical. BTW, how many of you people actually read or think before you make a post? So many stupid comments regarding the US flag being flown upside down. A quick read and research would answer your questions. The average American is lazy and ignorant these days. God help us all.

    Couldn't agree more.
Everyone should learn to look up the rumor mill e-mails on snopes.com or urban legends

  18. I can't believe that if things for those kids are in such destress (the flag) that they would not want to leave America. I guess it must be all the free medical care and the rights we give them. I think my rights are in jepordy as I'm tired of paying for all theirs. Be here legally or leave.

  21. What God says about how to treat the immigrants.
This is what the LORD says: Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of his oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the alien, the fatherless or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place.
